Aligning with the seasons

Medicine Wisdom | Joyful Playlist | Somatic Practice

Welcome to the first edition of Burn Brightly! I’m so grateful you’re here. This space is all about deep reflection, intentional growth, and exploring how psychedelics, mindfulness, and embodiment can support meaningful life transitions.

This week, I’m sharing a bit of medicine wisdom, the music that’s been moving me, and a short somatic practice to help ease into spring.

I’d love to hear what resonates with you and what’s on your mind as the seasons shift.

With love, warmth, and new beginnings,
🫶🏼 Leah

Medicine Wisdom

For years, I barely noticed the seasons. When I was deep in burnout, the only shifts I registered were whether I needed a heavier coat or when the heat made the subway unbearable. Nature's rhythms surrounded me, but I was too disconnected to appreciate the opportunities the seasons bring us.As I've emerged from my healing, I find myself aligning my inner world with the changing seasons. Each transition feels like an invitation—an opportunity to shed what no longer serves me and step into something new with intention.

My medicine work has started to mirror this rhythm. I make a nest for myself, set my intentions, and drink the tea. As the waves of sound envelop me, I feel my body syncing with the wisdom of the earth—moving through its own cycles of release and renewal. I feel lighter and more attuned to my heart and wisdom when I emerge.

With spring on the horizon, I feel an urge to get my hands in the dirt. This year, I'm leaning into growing a vegetable garden—a tangible way to honor this next phase, to nurture something from seed to fruit. I want to feel the soil between my fingers, root myself in the present moment, and grow alongside the season itself. 🌱

As we shift into spring, I'm asking myself:

What am I ready to let go of?

What new growth am I inviting in?

A Soundtrack for Exploration

Music has a way of opening doors within us—guiding, softening, expanding.

When I sit with medicine, sound becomes more than just a background—it’s a current that carries me deeper into my experience, syncing my body, breath, and emotions with something greater.

This playlist is crafted for those moments—a sonic companion for introspection, release, and transformation. It moves through grounding rhythms, ethereal melodies, and spacious sounds, creating a container for whatever needs to rise and unfold.

Whether you’re journeying inward, meditating, or simply seeking a shift in energy, I hope these sounds support you in exactly the way you need.

Spring is a time of transition—energy starts to shift, the days get longer, and we begin to emerge from the stillness of winter. This simple somatic practice helps you feel more connected to your body and the season by releasing tension, finding steadiness, and opening up to new energy.

Step 1: Feel Your Foundation
  • Stand with your feet flat on the ground, hip-width apart.

  • Notice where your weight naturally settles—does it shift forward, back, or to one side?

  • Without forcing anything, let your feet feel heavier, like they’re pressing into the ground a little more.

  • Take a few slow, deep breaths, paying attention to the sensation of support beneath you.

Step 2: Shake Off the Old
  • Loosen your body by shaking out your hands, arms, and legs.

  • Roll your shoulders up and back a few times, then let them drop.

  • Bounce lightly on your heels, letting any tension soften as you exhale.

  • If it feels natural, make a sound as you exhale—nothing forced, just whatever wants to come out.

Step 3: Open to What’s Next
  • Inhale and stretch your arms up overhead, reaching as far as feels good.

  • Exhale and let them drop back down. Repeat a few times, noticing how your body responds.

  • Now, place a hand on your chest or belly and ask yourself: What do I want more of this season?

  • You don’t have to force an answer—just notice what comes up.

Step 4: Take a Step Forward
  • Literally, take a step. Feel the movement, the shift.

  • This is your small, physical way of moving into the new season.

That’s it.

No overthinking.

Just a few minutes of connecting to your body and the present moment.
