Navigating Back to Trust
Medicine Wisdom | Nostalgic Playlist | Embodied Trust
Welcome back! I’m so glad you’re here. I’ve been busy preparing my garden and wrapping up my first semester of school. The dogs have been loving the mud, chasing the energy of spring through the yard.
In this issue, I’m reflecting on the wisdom of trust—how burnout is a betrayal of that trust, and how we can rebuild it to reclaim our power. I’m also sharing some music that’s been grounding me lately, along with a somatic practice to help you reconnect with your body.
As always, I’d love to hear what resonates with you and what’s on your heart as the spring equinox uproots us, sending us into the light.
May your heart be your anchor,
🫶🏼 Leah
Medicine Wisdom
Over the last few years, I’ve learned a thing or two about burnout.
Burnout is more than exhaustion; it’s a betrayal of trust—trust in ourselves, our bodies, our intuition, and others.
It happens when we disconnect from our intuition, pushing through without listening to the subtle signals sent from our bodies.
Rebuilding trust is the first step in healing, especially in a world that rewards pushing past our limits in the name of productivity.
Trust is also essential in psychedelic work.
Psychedelics amplify what’s within, and without trust in ourselves, our guides, and the container of safety, the experience can quickly become overwhelming. Trusting ourselves means honoring what we need, even when it feels uncomfortable to ask.
Psychedelic journeys also demand vulnerability.
We’re forced to face deep emotions, unresolved pain, and sometimes, parts of ourselves and our story we’ve long avoided.
Trust must be the anchor.
Surrendering and trusting our ability to process what surfaces is crucial for transformation.
Healing from burnout follows a similar path.
Both burnout and psychedelic work challenge us to confront our suppressed parts.
The medicine will show you, whether you're ready or not, to accept the wisdom.
And that can be incredibly scary.
Rebuilding trust with ourselves allows us to move through discomfort and grow, rather than resist it.
Trust is essential to aligning with who we truly are—and this is wisdom.
A Soundtrack for Trust
This playlist has been my soundtrack over the past couple of weeks, guiding me through moments of reflection.
It speaks to my heart and helps me reconnect with both my thoughts and my body.
From India.Arie to Erykah Badu, I hope it resonates with you, evokes a bit of nostalgia, introduces something new, and invites you to journey through your own moments of introspection.
Let it carry you over the next couple of weeks, whether you're reflecting in quiet moments, or simply need an anchor.
Embodied Trust
Finally, I recorded a new somatic practice for you.
This practice is designed to help you cultivate a deep, embodied sense of trust—trust in yourself, your body, and the unfolding of your life.
Set aside a few minutes in a quiet space where you can sit or lie down comfortably.
A reminder that you can find Glow State over on Spotify, I’m building a catalogue of somatic practices and meditations.
Let me know if there are any specific somatic practices or meditations you’d like to explore. I’d love to make something for you.
